What is the Audexum MCP server?
The Audexum MCP server (https://audexum.com/mcp) lets an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor or Copilot generate speech, transcribe audio and fetch YouTube transcripts, spending your Audexum credits.
How do I connect it?
- Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste the URL, then Connect.
- ChatGPT: Settings, Apps & Connectors, Create, paste the URL and choose OAuth. Custom connectors need developer mode.
- Claude Code: run
claude mcp add --transport http audexum https://audexum.com/mcp.
The first time the assistant uses it, a browser window opens: sign in or create a free account and press Approve. Setup steps for Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Zed and local models are on Integrations, MCP.
What can the assistant do?
- Generate speech on any engine, returning a link to the audio.
- Transcribe an audio file from a link.
- Fetch a YouTube transcript, which is free.
- List voices, check your balance and give you an upgrade link.
It cannot see your password or payment details, change your plan, or use voice cloning, batch or audiobooks.
What does it cost, and how do I disconnect?
It uses the same credits as the website and API, so see How do credits work? V4 needs the Creator plan or above.
Each audio clip gets a private link that works for 30 days and is then deleted. To disconnect, remove it in your assistant or revoke the 'MCP:' key under API keys.
